Content creator and influencer Ace Metaphor scaled up content production in response to audience demand, leading to massive revenue growth.

Talk Show About Black Love, Dating, and Relationships Goes Viral

Ace Metaphor already had a sizable following on Instagram when he approached us in 2021 about producing a talk show. The short form videos he had produced discussing Black love and dating had found a devoted audience, and they were asking for more content.

He shared his vision with us for a talk show about Black love, dating, and relationships called Tonight’s Conversation. He wanted to offer his audience a more professional production, which would require a film set, multiple cameras, and all day shoots. And to promote the show, he needed to create hundreds of video clips to share on social media. We immediately looked for ways to bring that vision to life while maximizing his resources. We helped convert his basement into a talk show set, engaged his existing support team in new production roles, and partnered with a third-party editing service to handle a portion of the social content editing.

Scaling Up to Meet Demand

By outsourcing video production to our team, Ace was able to release two 30-minute talk-show style episodes every week, each featuring a panel of up to six guests.

The high volume of content, combined with Ace’s strategic collaborations with other influencers, helped the show achieve viral audience growth. In one year, the Tonight’s Conversation audience grew from 250,000 followers to 1.5 million on Instagram and 0 to 1 million on TikTok.

Viral Popularity Leads to New Opportunities

Encouraged by the viral popularity of the show, Ace decided to take it on the road. He planned an international tour of 50 cities in the U.S. and Canada, with multiple live tapings in each city. To support the demands of a live taping, we designed a mobile film set and assembled eight crew members to travel with the show. The 8-month tour drew audiences of 1,000 to 5,000 in each city, and captured 150 episodes worth of content.

The show's popularity led to new revenue opportunities, prompting Ace to diversify his offerings and bolster his workforce. Ace Metaphor Productions evolved into an enterprise with an in-house team of 40 professionals, managing tour bookings, operating a private streaming service with multiple shows, and selling merchandise. Our video production and editing crew continues to operate as an extension of Ace’s in-house team, always looking for ways to maximize our impact as he further develops his viral brand.
