I AM

Our lean production crew teamed up with nationally-known fitness influencer Erica Lugo to produce a reality series focused on the overall transformation of mind, body, and spirit.

Reality Series Transforms Lives

Erica Lugo is a celebrity fitness trainer and social media influencer with more than half a million followers on her Instagram account, @EricaFitLove. When she approached us about producing a reality show, we discussed what that could look like and together we agreed on a series focused on the overall transformation of mind, body, and spirit.

Lean Production Crew

Working with a lean crew of just three people, we filmed nine 10-minute episodes in three months, chronicling the life-changing journey of five women from the Dayton region. Cast members participated in a variety of personal development and confidence-building activities and received fitness training, life coaching, and a personalized nutrition plan.

Empowering Cast Members

As a film agency, our mission is to create conscious content, and we support the cast members who are speaking out against the exploitative trend in reality TV. When filming I Am, our first priority was to make sure the experience was life-enriching for the cast. We never shot retakes, never posed or scripted anything, and to make sure the women felt free to express themselves, we gave them veto power over how they were portrayed.

We shared the initial version of each episode with the cast, inviting them to suggest any edits for parts they felt didn’t accurately reflect their true selves. This process underscored our commitment to authentic representation, as no cast members requested any alterations.

Career Launch Pad

We launched the series in January 2018 on a private online streaming network with a premiere party that drew more than 100 guests. Erica was able to share the content with her followers, and it also propelled her career forward in unexpected ways. Soon after the show launched, she was contacted by producers from USA Network. After witnessing her talent as a reality TV host on I Am, they invited her to audition to be a trainer on The Biggest Loser when it relaunched in 2020.

The show was also accepted by Amazon Prime and can be viewed there.
